Mae Joann Lind, 92 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Christian Homes Care Community in Holdrege. Mae was born on February 13, 1933, southwest of Wilcox, Nebraska, in Harlan County, Nebraska, the youngest of three children, born to William H. and Cloie Olive (Woollen) Jensen. She attended District #28 Country School in Harlan County, then received her secondary education from Wilcox High School, graduating with the class of 1950. During her senior year of high school, Mae accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior, at home listening to Charles Fuller, on the radio.  Mae pursued higher education for a year at Trinity Bible College in Chicago.

On April 11, 1955, she was united in marriage to Dean Lind on Eielson Air Force Base in Fairbanks, Alaska. Upon Dean's discharge, the couple moved back to Holdrege and they were blessed with four children: Sandi, Steve, Mark and Janice. The family made their home on a farm north of town, where they engaged in farming. On February 29,1972, Dean passed away in an automobile accident. In 1981, Mae moved into Holdrege and she began working as a secretary and bookkeeper at Christian Homes until 1998. She later worked in Accounts Payable at Phelps Memorial Health Center until her retirement.

Mae was a faithful member of the Holcomb Evangelical Free Church and later, Trinity Evangelical Free Church. She taught Sunday School and Bible school, was involved in numerous Bible studies and women's groups. Music and playing the piano were tremendously important to her throughout her life. She was the pianist at the Wilcox Church, all through her high school years, playing for many weddings, funerals and school functions as well. She also played in churches in Fairbanks, Kearney, Holcomb E-Free Church, and then at Trinity. Mae enjoyed giving piano lessons and also was a talented vocalist, singing in many groups, duets and ensembles. She was a skilled seamstress. She sewed most of her daughters and her own outfits, and made a wedding dress, and many bridesmaid dresses through the years. Mae loved the outdoors, always going on walks, no matter the weather. She took pride in her yard and tending to her flowers. But most of all, Mae loved being a grandma and great-grandma! She was their biggest cheerleader and attended as many of their activities as she could.

Mae will be remembered for her quiet strength, and her unwavering faith and trust in the Lord.
