Mass of Christian Burial for Marcella L. "Sally" McMinamen will be held on Friday, February 21, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at the All Saints Catholic Church in Holdrege, Nebraska with Monsignor Paul Witt as Celebrant.  Rosary will be recited at the church prior to the Mass at 9:30 a.m.  Following the traditional service, cremation will take place and a private family inurnment will be held at a later date at the Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege.

Marcella Louise "Sally" McMinamen, 91 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at the Christian Homes Care Community at Holdrege.  Sally was born October 20, 1928, on the family farm, south of Spalding in Greeley County, Nebraska, the fifth of six children to August and Hannah (Vanderloop) Kleffner.  She received her education from Spalding Public Schools, graduating from Spalding High School with the class of 1945. Following graduation, she began working at Northwestern Bell in Grand Island, Nebraska, where she was employed for 16 years.

On April 22, 1949, she was united in marriage to Thomas E. McMinamen, and to this union four children were born: Michael, John "Jack", Mark, and Kathryn.  In 1961, the family relocated to Holdrege, where Sally was employed for many years as a retail sales clerk for clothing stores.  She also worked for Polly Shoe Store in Holdrege as well.  On October 25, 1999, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tom.  Sally continued to reside at home until 2015, when she began to make her home at Chrisoma West, and in later years she transitioned into skilled care at the Christian Homes Care Community.

Sally was a devoted member of the All Saints Catholic Church in Holdrege, and an active member of the Altar Society in her younger years.  She enjoyed golfing, traveling with Tom, socializing with friends, and always loved family gatherings, especially picnics.

Besides her parents and her husband Tom, she was preceded in death by: three sisters: Doris Heldt and her husband, Norald; Esther Bloom and her husband, Matt; and Loretta Smith; and her brother, James Kleffner and his wife, Esther.

Sally leaves to celebrate her life; her children: Mike McMinamen and his wife, Deb of Holdrege; Jack McMinamen and his wife, Deb of Henderson, Nevada; Mark McMinamen and his wife, Julie of Lincoln, Nebraska; and Kathy McMinamen and her special friend, Jon Erickson of Perryville, Arkansas; five grandchildren:  Stacie Albi and her husband, Dave; Joe McMinamen and his wife, Stacy; Jerad McMinamen and his wife, Hilary-Jane; Tayler Ratanasin and her husband, Bryan; and Matt Skiles and his wife, Alison; ten great-grandchildren; her sister, Annette Ackman and her husband, Dick of Greeley, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Joanie Rehder of Plano, Texas; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation will be held prior to the Mass at the All Saints Catholic Church in Holdrege.

A memorial has been established in Sally's honor, and kindly suggested to the All Saints Catholic Church.
