Funeral Services for Marcia I. Carbaugh will be conducted from the First United Methodist Church in Holdrege, Nebraska on Friday, September 8, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Buck Linton-Hendrick, officiating. Following the traditional funeral, cremation will take place and inurnment will be at a later date.
Marcia Inell Carbaugh, 86 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2006 at the Holdrege Memorial Homes. She was born February 26, 1920 in Elwood, Nebraska to Cyrus "Mac" and Jenny (Bell) Casebolt. Marcia received her education in Elwood, graduating as Valedictorian from Elwood High School with the class of 1939. She pursued higher education at Kearney State College, where she received her certificate in teaching.
Marcia was united in marriage to Edgar Carbaugh on December 11, 1941 in Las Vegas, Nevada and to this union eight children were born: Jon, Linda, Jerry, Nancy, Marlene, Alan, Aaron and Lee. She taught country school for several years, was a nurse's aide in Cambridge, Nebraska and was employed at Becton-Dickinson in Holdrege until her retirement. She had a joy for living, which she shared with the world. She was generous, kind, witty, creative, irreplaceable and will be greatly missed.
She leaves to mourn her passing three sons: Jerry Carbaugh of Holdrege and Alan and Lee Carbaugh of Ft. Worth, Texas; three daughters: Linda Leisure of Omaha, Nancy Judd and her husband, Rick of McCook, Nebraska and Marlene Pascoe and Doris of Grand Island, Nebraska; brother-in-law, Jesse Carbaugh and his wife, Gen of Lincoln, Nebraska and her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, life long friend, Carrie Carragher of Portland, Oregon and many other friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edgar Carbaugh in 1995; two sons: Jon Carbaugh in 1995 and Aaron in infancy; sister, Louise Kimmel and a brother, Albert in infancy.
Mrs. Carbaugh will lie in state at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege on Thursday, September 7, 2006 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
A Memorial has been established in her memory.
