A memorial service for, Marcia Hasty will be held on this Saturday, May 22, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Holdrege, Nebraska with Rev. Dr. W. Kirwin Stewart, Jr. officiating.  A light lunch will be served in the church hall following the services.  Inurnment will be held at a later date at the Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege.

Marcia Dee (Beaird) Hasty, 85 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away suddenly, on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege.  Marcia was born on February 26, 1936, in Broadwater, Nebraska, the second of six children, born to Lawrence Lee and Iola Darlene (Wells) Beaird. She attended country school between Minden and Axtell through the 5 th grade, then attended Axtell Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1953.

Those who were fortunate to know Marcia loved and adored her.  She was many things to many people:  wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend.  She will be missed beyond words for her unconditional love, warmth, and humor.

On June 26, 1955, she was united in marriage to James Hanson and to this 20-year union; they were blessed with five daughters: Cindy, Kristie, Mindy, Kelly, and Angi. The family made their home in Holdrege, where Marcia was employed as a dental assistant for Dr. Andrew Means and Dr. Hathaway.  She then worked as a bank teller at First Security.

On January 17 th, 1981.  Marcia married Vernon Hasty.  Together the couple owned and operated Hasty Lanes bowling center, Taste of Country and Weiner World until their retirement in 2004.  As a couple they traveled extensively including, visiting all 48 contiguous states on a bicycle tour in 1987, and traveled to Hawaii and Alaska to make it to all 50.

Marcia enjoyed bowling was a devoted Nebraska football fan traveling far and wide to attend many away games. Most of all Marcia loved spending time with her Grandchildren and attending their activities over the years. She was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church and enjoyed her friends and family at bridge and birthday club.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by: her sister, Karol Frecks; brother-in-law, Royce Larson; and two sisters-in-law: Paula Hasty and Dolores Hasty.

Marcia is survived by: her husband, Vern Hasty of Holdrege; her daughters: Cindy Hoxmeier and her husband, John of Ft. Collins, Colorado; Kristie Hedges of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; Mindy Sherwood of Phillipsburg, Kansas; Kelly Perry and her husband, Matt of Lawrence, Kansas; and Angi McGinnes of Overland Park, Kansas; 4 step-children: Vernon Hasty Jr. of Chicago, Illinois; Mike Hasty and his wife, Patti of Omaha, Nebraska; Patrick Hasty and David Hasty, both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 25 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; four sisters: Shirley Urbom and her husband, Ron of Holdrege; Kathy Larson of Axtell; Brenda Splitler and her husband, Monty of Kearney, Nebraska; and Julie Jordan and her husband, Dan of Holdrege; brothers-in-law: Glen Frecks of Holdrege; Duane Hasty of Kearney; Larry Hasty and his wife, Patty of Broomfield, Colorado; and Mark Hasty and his wife, Lori of Watkins, Colorado; and many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021 from 6:00 p.m.to 8:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.  Following the visitation cremation will take place.

A memorial has been established in Marcia's honor, and kindly suggested to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Salvation Army Holdrege at 715 5th Avenue, 20, Holdrege, Nebraska, 68949.
