Marcia A. Olson

A private family funeral service for Marcia A. Olson will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2023, with Chaplain DeWane Dow officiating. Interment will follow at the Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege.

Marcia Ann Olson, 73 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away, on March 27, 2023, at Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege. Marcia was born in Manistee, Michigan on September 10, 1949, the only child, born to Edwin and Phyllis (Kubiak) Wissner. Marcia received her education in Manistee, Michigan, graduating from Manistee Catholic Central High School with the class of 1967. She then pursued higher education at the Northwest Institute in Minneapolis, Minnesota. While in college, she met Allen C. Olson, and the couple was united in marriage on April 20, 1968, and they were blessed with three children: Lorrie, Joseph, and Jacob. The family made their home in Holdrege, where Marcia was employed as a Secretary at the Phelps Memorial Health Center for 25 years.

Marcia was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church and enjoyed knitting, crafts, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.

Marcia was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents: William and Hulda (Kuller) Wissner; Joseph and Mary (Feliczak) Kubiak; nephew, Aaron Olson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Cecil and Marie Olson; and brother-in-law, Robert Nibbe.

Marcia is survived by her husband, Allen Olson of Holdrege; three children: Lorrie Haden and her husband, Heath of Osage Beach, Missouri; Joseph Olson and his wife, Amanda of Holdrege; Jacob Olson and his wife, Angela of Wichita Falls, Texas; nine grandchildren: Kelsey Olsen and her husband, Zack, Allie Haden, Titus Vandament, and Zayn Haden; Alexis Olson, Lainey Olson, and Sophie Olson; Addison Olson, and Eli Olson; four great-grandchildren: Larec; Finley; Damian; Scarlett; two sisters-in-law: Gwenda Nibbe; Carol Flaznick and her husband, Lee; one brother-in-law, Lavon Olson and his wife, Karen; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Christian Homes Care Community in Holdrege.

A memorial has been established in Marcia's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
