A Funeral Service for Marcia (Fouts) Soneson will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 10:30 a.m., at Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Holdrege, Nebraska with Pastors Paul Bauman and Murray Jones, officiating.  A private family interment will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery, Holdrege.

Marcia Kay (Fouts) Soneson, 63, of Holdrege, died on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at her home in Holdrege, surrounded by her family.  She was born May 15, 1962, in Franklin, Nebraska, the youngest of four children of Kenneth and Eileen (Lienemann) Fouts.  She was baptized and confirmed at the Pleasant View Church in rural Franklin County, Nebraska. She attended Wilcox Public Schools and graduated from Wilcox High School with the class of 1980.

She was united in marriage to Michael Soneson on February 27, 1999, at the First United Methodist Church in Holdrege.  They were blessed with four children.

Together the couple enjoyed spending time together for birthdays and holidays and at Johnson Lake.  Marcia enjoyed attending Husker Athletic Events, gardening, tending to her flowers and lawn, and decorating her house.

She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Free Church and enjoyed teaching Sunday school.  Marcia enjoyed being a Teammate Mentor.  She loved to look her best and enjoyed having her hair and nails done. Marcia loved to spend time with her friends.

In 2023, the couple moved to Holdrege, where Marcia could spend more time with her grandchildren, attending their many activities.  She enjoyed playing games with her grandchildren and always had a new game or toy to play with them.

Marcia was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws:  Gordon and Lucille (Olson) Soneson; and a grandson, Kale Michael Soneson.

She leaves to celebrate her life, her husband, Mike Soneson of Holdrege; their children:  Brent Soneson and wife, Abbie of rural Holdrege; Ethan Soneson and wife, Kaylie of rural Funk; Heather McQuillan and husband, Chris of Holdrege; and Brooke Wheeler and husband, Greg of Gretna, Nebraska; 12 grandchildren: Carson, Griffin, and Emma Wheeler; Kaleb, Isaac, and Lexie Soneson; Clay, Maisie, and Neal Soneson; and Lizzie, Max, and Maura McQuillan; her siblings:Jeanie Garner and husband, Allen of Sutton, Nebraska; Alan Fouts and wife, Becky of rural Elm Creek, Nebraska; Don Fouts and wife, Sidney of rural Wilcox, Nebraska; brother-in-law:  Jeff Soneson and wife, Deb of rural Funk, Nebraska; and sister-in-law, Cherie Brendel and her husband, Scott of Gretna; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Holdrege, with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Memorials are kindly encouraged to the family for future designation.
