Funeral Services for Margie Goings will be conducted from the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Bruce Demmel, officiating. Interment will be in the Carmine Cemetery at Carmine, Texas.

Margie (Doerr) Goings, 54 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2007 at her home in Holdrege. Margie was born February 10, 1953 at Brenham, Texas, the youngest of three children of H.L.F. Doerr Jr. and Marjorie (Fricke) Doerr. She received her education at Round Top-Carmine High School, graduating with the class of 1971. She then pursued higher education at the Blinn College and Texas A & M University.

Following her education, Margie was employed for several years in the Carmine, Texas area. On January 2, 1981 she was united in marriage to Jim Goings at Carmine. The couple made their home in Holdrege, where she focused on raising their two sons: Brett and Travis. Margie enjoyed supporting humanitarian causes through her faith, which she volunteered many hours including pro-life efforts and evangelism. She loved taking nature walks, feeding birds, tending to her garden, had a special place in her heart for all of God's creation and loved spending time with her family.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Jim of Holdrege; two sons: Brett Goings and his wife, Kristina of Lincoln, Nebraska and Travis Goings of Holdrege and Carmine, Texas; mother-in-law, Hazel Goings of Bertrand, Nebraska; brother, Tommy Doerr and his wife, Jan of Longview, Texas; sister, Candy Moore and her husband, Richard of Camp Allen and Corpus Christi, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law.

There will be no public visitation.

A memorial has been established in her memory.
