A graveside memorial service for Marguerite A. Lovgren will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Harvard Cemetery in Harvard, Nebraska, with Pastor Dan Wiese officiating. Please bring a lawn chair for seating at the graveside service. Everyone in attendance is welcome to join the family for a luncheon following the service.
Marguerite Ann "Maggie" Lovgren, 88 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska, passed away on May 23, 2026, at Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege. Maggie was born in Hastings, Nebraska, on July 6, 1937, the fourth of four children, born to Earl and Hulda (Schukei) Plambeck. She received her education from Hastings Public School and graduated with the class of 1955.
Following her education, she was united in marriage to Richard Lee "Dick" Lovgren on December 29, 1957, and to this union three children were born: Bill, Laurie, and Dan. The family made their home in Hastings and Kearney, Nebraska, before moving to Holdrege in 1973, where she spent the remainder of her life. Maggie enjoyed playing Bridge, volunteering, and collecting and refinishing antiques.
Maggie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Dick Lovgren; two brothers, and two sisters-in-law; and one brother-in-law.
Maggie is survived by her two sons: Bill Lovgren and his wife, Joan of Omaha, Nebraska; Dan Lovgren and his wife, Lisa of Belmond, Iowa; one daughter, Laurie Murphy and her husband, Patrick of Leawood, Kansas; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren with one on the way; one sister; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
There will be no viewing or visitation. The family is honoring Maggie's wish for cremation.
Memorials in Maggie's honor are suggested to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Holdrege Museum, or the Holdrege Public Library.
