Marilyn Jean Isaacson

A Funeral Service for Marilyn J. Isaacson be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., at Westmark Evangelical Free Church in rural Loomis, Nebraska with Pastors Noah Tyler, Murray Jones, and Kurt Holen, officiating.  Interment will follow at Sandstrom Cemetery, rural Phelps County, Nebraska.

Marilyn Jean Isaacson, 89 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Holdrege Memorial Homes and went home to be with our Lord and Savior.  Marilyn was born on September 25, 1936, in Minden, Nebraska, the first of two daughters, born to Oliver and Gladys M. (Johnson) Isaacson. She lived and received her education in Phelps County, through the 8th Grade and then transitioned to the Bethphage Program.  Marilyn worked for many years at the Corner Nugget in Holdrege and later worked for a few years at Country Cookin.

Marilyn cherished the time with her nephews and sister during the Chatham family summer vacations to the Isaacson farm. She loved the drives to Kearney where the whole family would feast at the "Bonanza" buffet restaurant.  She had a deep love of animals, especially cats and Shelties. Marilyn enjoyed attending Bible studies at Trinity Evangelical Free Church and at Holdrege Memorial Homes.  She also loved playing bingo, decorating, crafts, doing puzzles, eating candy, drinking Diet Coke, and doing crosswords.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Marliss E. Chatham and her husband, John.

Marilyn leaves two nephews:  David Chatham of Sioux Falls, and Michael Chatham of Chicago, his wife Mindy and their children, Noah, Naomi, Faith, and Abigail; Connie and Stan Vaughn of rural Loomis; and her friends.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
