Jeannie finished out her career at Cargil. After her retirement, she volunteered at the Oxford Thrift Store and the Orleans Museum. She was vital in Harlan County 4-H and received the Meritorious Service Award. Jeannie was a very giving person; she was busy but always had time to help a neighbor. She was always helping on the farm, even after they moved to town, she was available to help out.
Jeannie enjoyed wordsearch puzzles, playing cards, BINGO, crochet, and cross-stitch. She relished in getting the family together and spending time with them. She was a member of the Orleans Presbyterian Church, Eastern Star, Neighborhood Club, and the Extension Club.
