Funeral Services for Marjorie E. Hadley will be conducted from the Moses Hill Evangelical Covenant Church in rural Loomis, Nebraska on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastors Craig Roberts and DeWane Dow, officiating. Interment will be in the Moses Hill Cemetery in Phelps County.
Marjorie Ellen Hadley, 81 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at the Christian Homes Care Community in Holdrege. She was born on April 4, 1927 near Waynoka in Woods County, Oklahoma, the eldest of seven children of William "Bill" and Cora (Corbin) Crusinbery. She received her education at Waynoka, graduating from Waynoka High School. Following her education, she was employed by the Central National Bank in Alva, Oklahoma.
On September 2, 1947 she was united in marriage to Kilbourne Frank Hadley and to this union one son, Frank Cary was born. Marjorie and Kilbourne made their home on a farm near Alva, Oklahoma and in 1951 they moved to Nebraska, where they engaged in farming northwest of Holdrege. Marjorie loved life on the farm working side-by-side with Kilbourne. On October 26, 1988 she was preceded in death by her husband. In 1997 she moved into Holdrege, where she resided until moving to assisted living at Chrisoma West in 2006.
She was a member of the Moses Hill Covenant Church. She lived a life of humility; always working behind the scenes. Marjorie enjoyed volunteering at the Senior Center and served for several years on the Laird Township Election Board. Marjorie always made time for family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She leaves to mourn her passing her son, Frank Hadley and his wife, Karen of rural Loomis; three grandchildren: Craig Hadley and his wife, Debi of Loomis, Michael Hadley and his wife, Wendi of Loomis, Nebraska, and Stacy Birney and her husband, Scott of Arvada, Colorado; four great-grandchildren: Skylar, Carter and Gunnar Hadley and Aldyn Hadley; one brother, Glen Crusinbery and his wife, Jacque of Waynoka; five sisters: Mildred Benson and her husband, Everett of Webb City, Missouri, Clara Mae Boren of Booker, Texas, Gladys Snyder of Enid, Oklahoma, Dorothy Ashton of Aline, Oklahoma and Oleta Rodgers of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and brothers-in-law: Paul Ashton, Cecil Snyder and Ben Boren.
Marjorie will lie in state at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege on Friday, November 28, 2008 from 1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
A memorial has been established in her memory and kindly suggested to the Moses Hill Covenant Church.
