Marjorie Mae Jessup, 98 years of age, of Alma, Nebraska, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Society Colonial Villa in Alma. Marjorie was born September 30, 1916 in Harlan County near Orleans, Nebraska, the youngest of two children born to Glenn and Lena (Glaum) Miller. She received her elementary education at District No. 23 and graduated from Woodruff High School in Woodruff, Kansas with the class of 1933.

On January 19, 1935, she was united in marriage to Guy Elijah "Bill" Jessup and to this union two sons were born: Bob and Don. The family established their home in Woodruff where they operated a service station, tank wagon and port of entry. Later they went into the Allis Chalmers Machinery business and sometime later into the farming and cattle operations. In October 1957, they decided it was time for the boys to take over, so they purchased a home and moved to Alma. The couple later took up golf and bowling and Marjorie worked at the Alma Sale Barn for eight years. She was then employed at the Harlan County Hospital for 28 years.

After Bill passed away in 1973, Marjorie and her sister-in-law from Washington State toured the United States, Canada, Nova Scotia, Hawaii, Europe and parts of Mexico.

Marjorie enjoyed spending time with friends during coffee time at Bugbees, bridge parties, and crocheting, but most of all, she loved her time spent with her sons and their wives, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, Bill, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Miller and his wife, Dorothy; daughter-in-law, June Jessup; and nephew, Ron Miller.

She is survived by her two sons: Bob Jessup and his wife, Bernita of Phillipsburg, Kansas and Don Jessup of Frisco, Texas; 7 grandchildren: Rick Jessup and his wife, Merry of Logan, Kansas, Monte Jessup and his fiancé, Jackie Christenson of rural Phillipsburg, Candace Krafft and her husband, Blaine of Stuttgart, Kansas, Brenda Tighe and her husband, James of Frisco, Texas, Nicole Hess and her husband, Kurt of Merritt Island, Florida, Dawndy Flores of Plano, Texas and Lori Ullom and her husband, Brett of Rock Wall, Texas; 16 great-grandchildren: 8 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 5, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Bauer-Torrey & Mach Funeral Home in Alma.
