Funeral Services for Marjorie F. "Marje" Schippert will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Republican City, Nebraska with Pastors Jim Bendorf and Paul Ferrarone officiating. There will be an Order of the Eastern Star service at the church. Interment will follow at the Alma Cemetery.
Marjorie Faye "Marje" Schippert, 82 years of age, of Republican City, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Society - Colonial Villa in Alma, Nebraska. She was born on June 9, 1934 in Holdrege, Nebraska to Arvine J. and Marie (Heliker) Bierman. She attended school in Holdrege graduating from Holdrege High School with the class of 1952. She attended the University of Kansas and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy. She served her internship in Kalamazoo, Michigan and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
On February 3, 1957, Marje was united in marriage to James "Jim" Schippert at the Presbyterian Church in Holdrege and to this union two children were born: Lisa and Daniel. Marge enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her children. The family made their home north of Republican City until 1970 when they had a house fire. Jim then rebuilt their current home.
Marje enjoyed crafting, especially ceramics and painting and loved her cats. She also enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marje was a member of the United Methodist Church in Republican City and the Order of the Eastern Star, for over 60 years.
Besides her parents, Marje was preceded in death by; a stillborn granddaughter, Angela Sindelar; niece, Kimberly Schippert; nephew, Larry Waggoner; and five brothers-in-law: Bill Waggoner, Howard Losey, Gordon Busboom, Butch DeBerard and Ron Wills.
She leaves to celebrate her life; her husband, Jim of rural Republican City; children: Lisa Overleese and her husband, Tom of Republican City and Dann Schippert and his better half, Matt Ely of Lincoln, Nebraska; five grandchildren: Sami Bradley and husband, Jake, Natalie Hein and her husband, Darren, Eric Overleese, Sheana Overleese and Jimmy Sindelar; five great-grandchildren: Karsten, Kaitlyn, Jaelyn, Jackson and Anniston; sister, Averil Savery and her husband, Gilbert of Lincoln, Nebraska; brother-in-law: Rich Schippert and his wife, Julie of Republican City; three sisters-in-law, Vera Losey of Republican City, Joyce Bush and her husband, Chuck of Lee's Summit, Missouri and Velma DeBerard of Twin Falls, Idaho; son-in-law, Jim Sindelar and his wife, Julie of Republican City; along with nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Bauer-Torrey & Mach Funeral Home in Alma with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
A memorial has been established in Marje's honor and kindly suggested to the United Methodist Church in Republican City, to improve accessibility.
