Graveside services and interment for Marjorie M. Sulgrove will be held in the Oxford Cemetery at Oxford, Nebraska on Monday, October 5, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. with Marjorie's family members officiating.
Marjorie Marlene Sulgrove, 91 years of age, of Shelton, Washington, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at the Shelton Health and Rehabilitation Center. Marjorie was born January 11, 1924 on a farm in rural Smith County, Kansas, the second child born to Robert LeRoy and Mildred Ellen (Gouldie) Fair. She received her primary education from Lebanon, Kansas, and then Oxford Public School, graduating from Oxford High School with the class of 1941. Marjorie then pursued higher education at the University of Colorado, graduating with her Bachelor's degree in 1972 and her Master's degree in Library Science in 1974.
On February 8, 1945, Marjorie was united in marriage to Roy Raymond "Rayme" Sulgrove at the St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Denver. The couple made their home in Denver, where Marjorie was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse. For many years, Marjorie and Rayme enjoyed their cabin at Georgetown, Colorado, where they loved to ski. In 1974, they moved to San Marcos, Texas, where she was a librarian. Following retirement in 1984, they moved to Edison, Nebraska to be near her parents and other family members.
Marjorie was an avid reader, enjoying books of all genres. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, tending to her garden and was an excellent cook, always experimenting with new recipes. With Marjorie not having any children of her own, her nieces, nephews and their children were very special to her.
She moved to Shelton after the death of her husband and parents to be near her brother, A.J., where she resided until her passing.
Besides her husband and her parents; she was also preceded in death by her two brothers: Bob Fair and A.J. Fair; one sister, Norma Hollinger.
Marjorie leaves to celebrate her life; her nephews: Bruce Hollinger and his wife, Kathy of Logandale, Nevada, Edwin Hollinger and his wife, Cindy of Kearney, Nebraska, and Michael Fair and his wife, RayDelle of Shelton, Washington; niece, Gaynelle Blickenstaff and her husband, Vernon of Stamford, Nebraska; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.
There will be no visitation, the family is honoring Marjorie's wish for a closed casket.
A memorial has been established in Marjorie's honor and will be designated at a later date.
