Memorial Service for Martha A. Lindstrom will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska with Pastor Daren Popple officiating. Private family inurnment will be held prior to the service at the Prairie Home Cemetery at Holdrege.
Martha Ann Lindstrom, 88 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Holdrege Memorial Homes. Martha was born August 2, 1930 in Republican City, Nebraska, the second of four daughters, to Clifford V. and Marguerite J. (Schuper) Dedrick. She was raised at the Christian Children's Home in Holdrege. Martha attended Holdrege Public Schools and graduated from Holdrege High School with the class of 1948.
On December 21, 1950, she was united in marriage to Gerald R. Lindstrom in Lincoln, Nebraska. The couple was blessed with one daughter, Barbara. The family made their home in Holdrege.
In 1961, Martha began her career in banking. She worked at the First National Bank and later, the First Security Bank, both of Holdrege. She then began working for Farm Credit Services and retired in April of 1986.
Martha enjoyed sewing, gardening and reading. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, where she had received her 50 year pin.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gerald Lindstrom on January 10, 1990; two sisters: Connie Dedrick; and Barbara Jean Christner; two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Gloor and her husband, Richard "Dick"; and Ilene Brown and her husband, Wallace; two brothers-in-law, Elliott "Ole" Olesen; and DeWayne Alexander.
Those left to cherish her memory include; her daughter, Barbara Wick and her husband, Tom of Holdrege; two grandchildren: Heather Baxter and her husband, Eric of Holdrege; and Christopher Wick and his wife, TiaLynn of Amherst, Nebraska; seven great-grandchildren: T.J. Baxter, Haley Baxter, Brittany Baxter and Bailey Baxter; Christian Wick, Caleb Wick, and Callen Wick; one sister, Betty Henry and her husband, Jim of Holdrege; three sisters-in-law: Cathryn Alexander of Gothenburg, Nebraska; Carolyn Olesen of Holdrege; and Millie Brown and her husband, Jim and of Holdrege; along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, extended family and friends.
Memorial Book Signing will be held on Monday, July 22, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.
A memorial has been established in Martha's honor, and kindly suggested to Holdrege Memorial Homes.
