Marvin "Mac" McClain, 57 years of age, of Loomis, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at his home in Loomis. Marvin and his twin, Martin, were born on February 11, 1954 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Joe and Loraine (Ferris) McClain. Mac attended school at Little Rock and then received his G.E.D. from Colby, Kansas.

In May 1971 he was inducted into the U.S. Army and served his country during the Vietnam War and later during Desert Storm and Desert Shield (the Persian Gulf War). He was a recruiter for the Kansas Army National Guard and a Mechanic in the Nebraska Army Reserves.

Marvin loved people and drove truck across country coast-to-coast for 30 years. Because of health reasons, Mac and Judy retired in Loomis. He loved to mow and attend yards and with the hobby began his own mowing and lawn service with his boys. Later the salvage business was added and McClain's Mowing and Salvage was started.

Mac attended the Loomis Evangelical Free Church in Loomis. Following his sickness, Mac would often sit on the front porch and smile and wave to all his friends and tell Judy, "Ya know, maybe I was born in Arkansas, but Loomis is my home with all my friends."

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lorine McClain Peifer; his father, Joe McClain; step-father Bill Peifer; infant daughter, Monica Joelynn McClain; two brothers: Virgel Hester, Billy Crenshaw; sister, Geneva Parker; and an infant sister.
