Mary "Jane" Donadio

A visitation for Mary "Jane" Donadio will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska. Following the visitation, a memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. with Pastor Daren Popple officiating. Burial rights will follow at the Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege.

Mary "Jane" Donadio, 71 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on February 24, 2026, at Kearney Regional Medical Center in Kearney, Nebraska. Jane was born in Holdrege on June 29, 1954, to Thomas and LeMeta (Snodgrass) Donadio. She was baptized, made her first Holy Communion, and confirmed in Holdrege at All Saints Catholic Church. She attended Holdrege Public Schools, graduating from Holdrege High School with the class of 1972.

Jane was blessed with four children: Cindy, Heather, Candice, and Michael. On March 13, 1982, she met her life partner, Thomas E. Spiker Sr.

Jane had various jobs in her lifetime, including Pamida for many years, working in dietary at Holdrege Memorial Homes, and her last job was at the Daily Citizen in Holdrege, working in circulation. But her favorite job was working at Granny's Wheels, enjoying roller skating where she taught many children to skate, whom now are adults.

Her hobbies include reading, collecting bells, crafts, and roller skating. Her favorite pastime is spent with her grandchildren. "Ma" Jane was a mom to a lot of people; her quote was "My door is always open."

Jane was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Michael Donadio; stepdaughter, Krista McKenzie; granddaughter, Mia Larson; brother-in-law, Pete Wetzel; and a few special friends.

Survivors include her life partner, Tom Spiker Sr. of Holdrege; three daughters: Cindy Shafer of Omaha, Nebraska; Heather Larson and husband, Parker of Overton, Nebraska; Candice Spiker of Holdrege; one son, Michael Spiker and wife, Sydney of Holdrege; grandchildren: Jordan, Bailey, Ryan, Anais, Ty, Clare, and Connor; one brother, Thomas E. Donadio and wife, Margo of Oroville, California; two sisters: Patricia Wetzel of Grand Forks, North Dakota; Sandra Pribyl and husband, Don of Holdrege; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many other extended family of children, grandchildren that she considered her family, plus many friends.

A memorial has been established in Jane's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
