Mary Lou Lienemann, 89 years of age, of Holdrege entered into Heaven on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at the Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege. Mary Lou was born May 4, 1933, in Pleasanton, Nebraska, the eldest of four children born to Lloyd and Mary (Reynolds) Dixon. Mary Lou received her primary education from Riverdale and Pleasanton Public Schools and later, attended and graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1951.
On April 11, 1963, Mary Lou was united in marriage to Ronald Lienemann at North Platte, Nebraska and Ron welcomed her daughter, Debra, as his own. In addition, she lovingly accepted his two children, Lowell and Bonnie, into her life. Ron and Mary Lou's union was then blessed with two daughters, Marceen and Robin, and their family was complete. Before settling in Holdrege, the family made their home in North Platte, Kearney, and Elwood. Mary Lou was employed at the West Company in Kearney for several years before working at the Loomis Pig Coop for 15 years. She also hauled corn for over 20 years for the Lee Isaacson family.
Mary Lou enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and gardening, but above all else, she loved spending time with her family. She was always a caregiver to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Mary Lou's door was always open to anyone in need. Ron and Mary Lou enjoyed attending the Moses Hill Covenant Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ron; one son, Lowell Lienemann; one brother, Wesley Dixon; one brother-in-law, Gene Lienemann; and a nephew, Steve Lienemann.
Mary Lou leaves to mourn her passing four daughters: Debra Hixson and her husband, Dave of Sidney, Nebraska; Bonnie Hughes and her husband, Joe of Las Vegas, Nevada; Marceen Waldher and her husband, Kevin of Holdrege; and Robin Swearingen and her husband, Tim of Columbus, Nebraska; one daughter-in-law, Lori Lienemann of Houston, Texas; 18 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Phillip Dixon and his wife, Corliss of Pleasanton, Nebraska; one sister, Rebecca Dale and her husband, Dennis of Pleasanton; two sisters-in-law: Della Dixon of North Platte, Nebraska; and Margaret Lienemann of Alliance, Nebraska; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.
A memorial has been established in Mary Lou's honor and will be designated at a later date.
