Mass of Christian Burial for Matilde Rios will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at All Saints Catholic Church in Holdrege, Nebraska with Father Thomas Lux officiating. Rosary will be held prior to services at 12:30 p.m. Burial will be at the Industry Cemetery, rural Atlanta, Nebraska.
Matilde H. Rios, 57 years of age of Holdrege, Nebraska, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska. Matilde was born on February 8, 1954 at Durango, Mexico to Jose Antonio Hernandez and Maria Elena Castenada. She attended and graduated school in Durango, Mexico.
On February 10, 1970, she was united in marriage to Jesus Rios, Jr., in Fort Stockton, Texas.
She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, fishing, camping and helping family and friends. She loved to cook, to ride the motorcycle with her husband, Jesus and enjoyed music. She loved to go to garage sales, auctions and the second hand stores. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, father and mother-in-law and a son in infancy.
Matilde leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Jesus of Holdrege; children: Ruben Rios of Jacksonville, Florida, Rachel Peterson and her husband, Robert of Savannah, Georgia, and Joe Albert Rios of Holdrege; grandchildren: Mark Rios and special friend, Michelle McCay of Holdrege, Ray Rios and fiancé Kasey Smith of Holdrege, Christopher Fulmer and his wife, Meghan of Holdrege, Tyler Fulmer of Holdrege, Melinda Rios of Bloomington, Nebraska, Mykaela Rios of Bloomington, Hunter Peterson of Savannah, Georgia; great-grandchildren, Hayden and Addilynn Fulmer of Holdrege; brother-in-law, Johnny Rios, and his wife, Elva, of Odessa, Texas; sister-in-law, Virginia Luna and her husband, Art of Hobbs, New Mexico; along with many other cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family and special friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska.
