Max Everett Heinz, 90 years of age, of Washougal, Washington, (formerly of Holdrege, Nebraska), passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at his home in Washougal.  Max was born on September 27, 1929, in Kearney, Nebraska, the son of Herman and Edna (Pangburn) Heinz.  The family farmed in the Spring Creek area at Rock Falls in Phelps County, Nebraska.  Max received his education at Mascot, graduating from Mascot High School with the class of 1947.

In 1951, he was united in marriage to Lillie Cottrell.  To this union six children were born:  Betty, Keith, Gary, Debra, Susan, and Barbara.  The family made their home in the Spring Creek area, where Max engaged in farming and raised cattle.  Max continued farming in the Spring Creek Township until 1964.  In 1969, they moved to the West Coast, near Portland, Oregon.  Later in years, he moved to Washington State, where he continued his career as an Iron Worker.  Max traveled the West Coast remodeling and constructing gas stations for many years, until his retirement.  With his love of traveling, this career served Max well.

Besides traveling, Max enjoyed collecting antique gas pumps, and vintage signage.

Max was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Bob Heinz; and his former wife, and mother of his children, Lillie.

He leaves to celebrate his life; his six children:  Betty Nitsos of Portland; Keith Heinz and his wife, Jeanie of Holdrege; Gary Heinz of Molalla, Oregon; Deb Severson of Woodburn, Oregon; Susan Heinz and her husband, Jose of Prineville, Oregon; and Barb Dagget of Beaverton, Oregon; and a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; extended family and friends.
