Maxine Beedle, 93 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at the Christian Homes Care Community in Holdrege. Maxine was born July 16, 1926 in Huntley, Nebraska, the youngest of ten children born to Roy and Mary (Bishop) Sprague. She received her education at Huntley, and graduated from Huntley High School with the class of 1943.
On September 14, 1947, Maxine was united in marriage to Derald Calvin Beedle at the First United Methodist Church in Holdrege by Pastor Schwabauer. In 1954, they were blessed with a wonderful son, Steven. Following their marriage, they made their home in Holdrege, until 1955 when they relocated to a new home in Denver, Colorado. Then in 1956, they moved to Westminster, Colorado until their retirement. In 1986, Maxine and Derald moved to their beautiful hand crafted mountain home in Red Feather Lakes, Colorado. In 1997, Maxine and Derald relocated to Fort Collins, Colorado, where they celebrated their 50 th Wedding Anniversary. Over the years they enjoyed many excursion trips in their RV throughout Colorado, Wyoming, and California. In 2001, they moved to Alma, Nebraska, where Derald and Maxine resided until his passing on April 19, 2007. In September 2007, they would have celebrated their 60 th Wedding Anniversary. After Derald's passing, Maxine began to make her home in Holdrege at Erlandson's Square. This past February she began to make her home at Christian Homes Care Community.
Maxine was an active member of the Order of Eastern Star throughout the years, which she loved very much. She also enjoyed having family and friends over to bake for and visit with. She was a very talented cook and everyone raved about her cinnamon rolls. Once she had returned to Nebraska she became a dedicated member of the YMCA, where she participated in water aerobics weekly.
Besides her parents, and her husband, Derald; Maxine was preceded in death by nine siblings, and a host of extended family.
Maxine leaves to celebrate her life; her son, Steven Beedle and his wife, Zee of Santa Cruz, California; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and wonderful friends.
