Interment will be held in the Stamford Cemetery at Stamford, Nebraska.
Meredith Dee (Delimont) Torr, 64 years of age, of Casa Grande, Arizona (formerly a resident of Holly, Colorado, Brighton, Colorado, and of Stamford, Nebraska) passed away on Friday, October 26, 2012 at the Casa Grande Regional Medical Center. Meredith was born December 23, 1947 in Holdrege, the eldest of two children born to Wallace and Grace (Thomas) Delimont. She graduated from Stamford High School with the class of 1966. Following her education, Meredith attended beauty school and began work by renting the Magic Mirror salon in Oxford, Nebraska.
Meredith wed Don Torr on April 24, 1970 in Oxford. The couple resided in Holly and Brighton, Colorado prior to retiring in Casa Grande. Meredith and Don raised four children: Julie, Lynn, Del, and Darin in Holly, CO and moved to Brighton, CO in 1991 to be closer to Don's work.
Meredith took great pride in raising her children and making a wonderful home for her family. With Don traveling during the week with his power line construction company, Meredith bore most of the responsibility on the home front. As her children got older, Meredith did work in several flower shops creating beautiful floral arrangements. She always had an artistic side that often kept her busy making a variety of crafts and jewelry.
Meredith enjoyed many activities throughout her years. She bowled for several years in a ladies league, made wonderful home cooked meals (especially apple pie and pumpkin roll), loved playing partner pinochle games, she enjoyed watching all of her children participate in athletics, and loved fishing (especially for northern pike during their summer trips to North Dakota). Later in life, she enjoyed traveling with Don in their RV, playing social games with friends from around the world, and most importantly, she absolutely loved to spoil her grandchildren. Affectionately known as "Grammy" to her grandchildren, she will forever hold a place in their hearts.
She was preceded in death by her father Wallace, and her only brother, Tom Delimont.
Meredith leaves to mourn her passing; her husband, Don Torr of Casa Grande; her mother, Grace Delimont of Holdrege; daughter, Julie Stewart and her husband, Judd of Brighton; sons: Lynn Torr and his wife, Shari of Denison, Iowa, Del Torr and his wife, Holly of Buckeye, Arizona, and Darin Torr and his wife, Jennifer of Fort Lupton, Colorado; three grandsons: Gregory Peake, Nicholas Torr, and Angelo Torr; six granddaughters: Ashley and Meghan Torr, Mackenzie Torr, Aubrey, Madison, and Britton Torr; and a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
