Funeral Services for Nadine L. Grubaugh will be conducted from the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska on Monday, November 5, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend Jean Clayton, officiating. Interment will be in the Ft. McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell, Nebraska on Monday, at 2:00 p.m.
Nadine LaBelle Grubaugh, 84 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska (formerly North Platte, Nebraska) passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at Holdrege Memorial Homes. Nadine was born December 1, 1922 in Polk County near Osceola, Nebraska, one of eight children of Miles and Louisa (Beebe) Ransom. She received her education from Shelby, graduating from Shelby High School with the class of 1940.
On November 1, 1941 she was united in marriage to Henry L. Grubaugh and to this union one daughter, Janet was born. The family made their home in several states and communities in Nebraska including: Shelby, Nebraska, Cozad, Nebraska and later settled to North Platte, Nebraska.
Nadine was an avid gardener and loved nature. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary in North Platte. On June 13, 2001 she was preceded in death by her husband, Hank. In July of 2005, Nadine moved to Holdrege to be near her granddaughter.
She leaves to mourn her passing her two sisters: Ruth Prell and Darlene Jensen both of Lincoln, Nebraska; two grandchildren: Craig Johnson of Ogallala, Nebraska and Teresa Carey and her husband, Randy of Wilcox, Nebraska; three great-grandchildren: John and Leslie Carey of Wilcox and Brandon Johnson of St. Paul, Nebraska; one great-great granddaughter, Aspen Dawn Johnson; son-in-law, Larry Pierce of Ogallala; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Janet (Johnson) Pierce; grandson, Douglas Johnson; son-in-law, John Johnson and five brothers: Millard, Mervin, George, Arthur and Leonard Ransom.
Nadine will lie in state at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege on Sunday, November 4, 2007 from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
