Memorial services for Clotilde M. "Nina" Rutler will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Holdrege, Nebraska on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. A private family inurnment will be held.
Clotilde Marie "Nina" Rutler, 87 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege. Nina was born on May 18, 1929 in Manhattan, New York, the only child born to Antoine Joseph and Antoinette Josephine (Wurtzel) Gaudibert. She attended the Central Needle Trade School in Manhattan, for 11 years, and then took night classes to complete her GED.
On September 21, 1946, she was united in marriage to Paul Eten Rutler and to this union one child was born, Robert Antoine Rutler. The family made their home in Patterson, New Jersey, where Nina worked as a librarian's assistant for 28 years. Nina and husband, Paul moved to Oxford, Nebraska in 1988. In September of 2003, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul. Since February of 2014, Nina began to make her home at Holdrege Memorial Homes due to her failing health. Reading was always important to Nina, being an avid reader, she made it her mission to teach their son, Robert to read at the age of three. She also loved to sew, and one of her hobbies was being an amateur massage therapist, enjoying the art of giving people foot massages. She was a very caring person, who took care of her mother in her elderly years. Her sense of humor will be remembered by her family and friends. Nina was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Holdrege.
Besides her parents and husband, Paul; Nina is preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Cynthia Rutler, and a host of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
She leaves to celebrate her life; her son, Robert Rutler of Hillsborough, New Jersey; sister-in-law, Yvonne Bunnell of Oxford, Nebraska; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
There will be no visitation or memorial book signing. The family is honoring her wish for cremation.
A memorial has been established in Nina's honor and kindly suggested to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Holdrege.
