Norma Jean Foos, 89, of Central City, Nebraska, passed away, on October 7, 2023, at The Oaks in Central City. Norma was born in Rush County, Kansas on November 28, 1933, the fourth of five children, born to Dan and Violet (Schetler) Ochs. She received her education and graduated from Otis High School in Otis Kansas.

Norma worked at her parents' Nifty Nine Cafe and various restaurants before settling in Holdrege and working as a dietitian at Christian Homes Care Community until she physically wasn't able anymore.  Norma had three children, Dan, Kirk, and DeAnna.

Norma enjoyed being at home listening to church on TV, watching NASCAR races, and doing puzzle books, but most of all she loved to watch her grandchildren and be around her family. She was a member of Mt. Calvery Church in Holdrege.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, DeAnna Marvin; one great-grandson, Ty Bowman two sisters: Leona Hanhart and her husband Robert; Wanda Jacob and her husband, Sunny; and one brother, Dan Jr. Oaks and his wife, Katheryn.

Norma is survived by her two sons: Dan Boxberger and his wife, Dee of Harrison, Arkansas; and Kirk Bowman and his wife, Robyn of Holdrege; one son-in-law, Merle Marvin; four grandchildren: Walter Bowman and his wife, Kayla; Brandi Grimm and her husband, Dustin; Mandy Bowman; Dustin Bowman and his wife, Alexis; 16 great-grandchildren: Ryan, Jade, and Remy Bowman; Trestin Bowman; Samarha and Draven Barrow; Jostin and Colt Grimm; Megan and Michael Meyers; Austin and Tabitha Murphy; Tryston Edwards; Kyra, Adaya, and Georgia Bowman; one sister, Donna Smelik and her husband, Richard.

along with a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A memorial has been established in Norma's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
