A Funeral Service for Norman L. Noren will be held on Friday, April 22, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at the Peace Lutheran Church in Alma, Nebraska with Pastor Jason Bonnicksen officiating. Interment will follow at the Alma Cemetery.

Norman Lee Noren, 86 years of age, of Alma, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at his home in Alma. Norman was born on November 30, 1935, in, Orleans, Nebraska the oldest of four children, born to Carl and Mildred (Legrande) Noren. He received his education from Orleans Public School through the fourth grade, the family then moved to Alma where he continued his education and graduated from Alma High School.

Following his education, he began working for the Ben Franklin Store in Alma.

On July 21, 1957, Norman was united in marriage to Darlene Eden at the Our Redeemer Church in Ash Grove, Nebraska. The couple made their home in Alma, and were blessed with three children: Brenda, Lori and Steve. Later Norman began working at the Harlan County Bank as a Loan Officer and retired as President of the Bank.

He enjoyed golfing, hunting, bowling, and playing cards. Norman was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, the Country Club, Housing Board, Chamber of Commerce, and the Volunteer Fire Department, all in Alma.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Brenda Waggoner; granddaughter, Shannon L. (Macke) Temme; great-granddaughter, Olivia Grace Temme in 2014; and two brothers, Keith Noren; and Don Noren.

He leaves to celebrate his life his wife, Darlene Noren of Alma; daughter, Lori Macke and her husband, Tim of Cambridge, Nebraska; son, Steve Noren and his wife, Christine of Hickman, Nebraska; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister: Barbra Tegtman and her husband, Mardy of Hurricane, Utah; sister-in-law: Rhonda Noren of Alma; along with nieces and nephews, and extended family.

There will be no visitation.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Norman's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
