Funeral Services for Pauline M. Peterson will be conducted from the Bethel Lutheran Church in Holdrege, Nebraska on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend David Sites, officiating. Interment will be in the Prairie Home Cemetery at Holdrege.
Pauline May Peterson, 77 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2006 at the Holdrege Memorial Homes. Pauline was born on July 16, 1929 at North Platte, Nebraska, one of two children of Fredrick Peter and Iva May (Powell) Bouwman. Pauline received her education at Omaha and Bloomfield, Nebraska. Following her education she was united in marriage to Elmer E. Peterson on April 24, 1948 and to this union three sons were born: Weston, Ward and Bradford. The family made their home in Holdrege, where Pauline focused on caring for her family and kept the books for their business, Peterson Land Leveling Company until Elmer's retirement in 1983. The couple enjoyed traveling together, Pauline also enjoyed caning antique chairs, tending to her flower garden and feeding the birds and squirrels. On February 26, 1995 she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer.
She was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church, where she was active as an usher. She also enjoyed many friendship bonds formed through the years in several card clubs and extension clubs. As a past time, Pauline enjoyed golfing at the Bertrand Golf Course and at the time she was the only woman to have a hole-in-one on the course.
She leaves to mourn her passing her son, Wes Peterson and wife, Vicki of Holdrege; nine grandchildren; two half sisters; and a very special friend, Clinton Sundquist of Holdrege and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her husband, Elmer she was preceded in death by two sons: Ward and Bradford in infancy; her parents and brother, Richard Bouwman.
Mrs. Peterson will lie in state at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege on Tuesday, November 14, 2006 from 1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
