Funeral Services for Pearl "Annette" Eschen will be held on Monday, August 17, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Community Church in Wilcox, Nebraska with Pastor Craig Cedar officiating. Interment will follow the services in the Wilcox Cemetery.
Pearl "Annette" Eschen, 83 years of age, of Wilcox, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at the Kindred Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Annette was born December 2, 1931 in Ogallala, Nebraska, one of nine children born to Charles A. and Pearl M. (Persons) Anderson. She received her education from Ogallala Public Schools, graduating from Ogallala High School with the class of 1949. She then pursued higher education at North Platte Community College in North Platte, Nebraska, where she received her Nursing Degree.
On October 13, 1953, Annette was united in marriage to Edwin Gale Eschen in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Annette also brought her son, Steve to this marriage. To this union three sons were born: William, Larry, and Richard. The family made their home in several different communities, until settling to Wilcox in 1978.
Annette was employed by the Christian Homes Care Community in Holdrege, Nebraska, Bethphage Mission in Axtell, Nebraska and the Kearney County Health Services Hospital and Long Term Care in Minden, Nebraska.
She enjoyed playing Bingo, and in her younger years she loved boating, fishing and camping with her family.
Annette is preceded in death by her parents; son, Larry Eschen in 1997; granddaughter, April R. Eschen; two sisters: Florence Sladky and Hazel Sybrandt; and five brothers: Dewey Farr, Clarence Anderson, Kenneth Anderson, Theodore Anderson and Herbert Anderson.
She leaves to celebrate her life; her husband, Ed Eschen of Wilcox; three sons: Steve Eschen and his wife, Susan, Bill Eschen and Richard Eschen all of Wilcox, sixteen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; one brother, Kyle Anderson and his wife, Dorothy of Omaha, Nebraska; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Bauer-Torrey & Mach Funeral Home in Wilcox.
A memorial has been established in Annette's honor and will be designated at a later date.
