A Funeral Service for Phyllis A. Johnson will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska with Pastor Murray Jones officiating. Interment will follow at the Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege.


Phyllis A. Johnson, 97 years of age, of Minden, Nebraska, formerly of Holdrege, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024 at Bethany Home in Minden. Phyllis was born March 30, 1927, in Harlan County, the fourth of five children born to Julies and Hilma (Anderson) Delimont. She received her education from Stamford Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1944.

In May of 1946, she was united in marriage to Melvin Hunt and they were blessed with one son, Dale. The family made their home on a farm south of Oxford, until Melvin passed of a farming accident.

In May of 1958, she was united in marriage to Clinton "LaMont" Johnson in Holdrege. Together with LaMont's son, Brian, and Phyllis' son, Dale, the family made their home in Holdrege. Phyllis was employed at Southern Nebraska Rural Power.
Phyllis was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Holdrege.

She loved to cook, especially for family events and holidays. She enjoyed having coffee with the neighbor ladies, traveling and doing crossword puzzles. But most of all, Phyllis loved her family and spending time with them.


She was preceded in death by:  her parents; her husband, LaMont; her son, Dale Hunt; three brothers: Wallace Delimont and his wife, Grace; Harold Delimont; and Ralph Delimont; her sister, Pauline McCutchen and her husband, Carl; one sister-in-law: Elaine Johnson; three brothers-in-law: Roger Johnson; LaVern Johnson; and H. Eugene Johnson.


She is survived by her son, Brian Johnson and his wife, Kris of Camdenton, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Edna Hunt of Minden; five grandchildren: Michael Hunt and his wife, Gina of St. Joseph, Missouri; Stacy Werner and her husband, Steve of Minden; Terri Rockmann of Lincoln; Peggy Babcock of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Josh Minnick of Omaha, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Beatrice Delimont of California; a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews; other family members and friends.


Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege. with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.


A memorial has been established in Phyllis' honor and kindly suggested to the Phelps County Food Pantry;  donations can be dropped off at First Interstate Bank, Holdrege.
