Ramon Urquiza

A Funeral Mass for Ramon Urquiza will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at All Saints Catholic Church in Holdrege, Nebraska, with Father Jay Buhman as Celebrant. Following the service, cremation will take place, and a burial will be held at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery in Lexington.

Rosary will be recited on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at All Saints Catholic Church.

Ramon Urquiza, 55 years of age, of Hastings, Nebraska, passed away on February 16, 2026, in Grand Junction, Colorado. Ramon was born in San Gabriel, Mexico on May 27, 1970, the fourth of six children, born to Margarito and Maria (Cano) Urquiza. He received his education in Fort Morgan, Colorado.

Ramon was a very hard-working man; he worked at the grain elevator in Hastings. He was very sweet and overcame so much battling his Schizophrenia illness.

When Ramon was younger, he enjoyed running and boxing and even earned his Golden Gloves.

Ramon was preceded in death by his grandma, Guadalupe Mendez; brother, Jesus Jose Urquiza;

Ramon is survived by his parents, Margarito and Maria Urquiza; four children: Aleca Urquiza; Monica Urquiza; Christi Urquiza; and Ramon Urquiza Jr.; four siblings: Blanca (Jose Louis) Murillo; Pedro (Victoria) Urquiza; Chayo (Eduardo) Sanchez; Margarito (Janette) Urquiza Jr.; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

There will be no visitation the evening prior to the service.

A memorial has been established in Ramon's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
