Ramona Kay "Mona" Jones, 70 years of age, of Oxford, passed away on Sunday, May 23, 2021 in her home, surrounded by her family.  Ramona was born on June 2, 1950, at Burlington, Colorado, the eldest of three children raised by Harold and Dorothy (Craven) Knipschild.  Mona was baptized in 1961 at the Itazuke AFB in Japan and in 1963, she was baptized at First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Portland, Oregon.  Ramona received her education from different schools as she lived many places throughout her childhood, including, Japan, Oregon, Arizona, Florida, and Hollinger, Nebraska, and later attended and graduated from Oxford High School with the class of 1968.

On December 21, 1968, Ramona was united in marriage to the love of her life Michael Neil Jones at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Oxford.  The couple made their home in Kearney, Nebraska, and McCook, Nebraska, before settling and making their home in Oxford, where they were blessed with one daughter, Michelle (Shelly).  Ramona began working as a bookkeeper for Better Buys and later Brooks Ford, Inc.

Mona's passion was sewing and quilting.  She was known as the family fixer; any hole, button, or zipper issue, it was Mona to the rescue.  Mona also made several quilts for her grandchildren, Breanna and Rachel, and many nieces and nephews.

Mona was a member of the Oxford American Legion Auxiliary, and St. John's Lutheran Church.

Ramona was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents:  Warren and Mildred Craven; August and Jane Knipschild; uncle, Merlin Knipschild; and her father-in-law, Ormand (Jinks) Jones.

She leaves to celebrate her life: her husband, Mike Jones of Oxford; her daughter, Michelle "Shelly" Goodon of Hastings, Nebraska; two granddaughters:  Breanna and Rachel Goodon of Hastings; brother, Henry Knipschild and his wife, Yvonne of Warner Robins, Georgia; one sister, Patty Schelling of Kearney, Nebraska; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
