Randy James Wells, 34 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away tragically on Thursday, July 30, 2020, in Holdrege, as a result of a single motor vehicle accident. Randy was born on June 4, 1986, at Kearney, Nebraska, the youngest of three sons to David and Canda "Candy" (Suhr) Wells. He was baptized and confirmed at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Holdrege. Randy received his education from Holdrege Public Schools, graduating from Holdrege High School with the class of 2005 as co-valedictorian. He then pursued higher education at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and then completed his Bachelors of Science Degree in Business from Bellevue University. Following his education, Randy returned home to Holdrege, where he worked alongside his dad and brothers at Wells Flying Service and was engaged in farming with WFS Ag Partnership.
On August 21, 2010, he was united in marriage to Jordan Johnson in Holdrege and to this union they were blessed with five children: Brooklyn, James, Axel, Quinn, and Jonathan. The family made their home in Holdrege, where he continued to work at Wells Flying Service and also attained his Real Estate license. Randy owned and managed many rental properties as well. In 2019, he sparked an interest in concrete construction and later formed a concrete business.
Randy loved to hunt and go to the blind, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the family's river ground. He was an avid sports fan, especially enjoyed playing golf and watching Husker Football. Randy also had a passion for coaching, especially pee-wee football.
Randy loved to entertain; whether it was a game of cards with friends or a family BBQ, he could always be found cooking or grilling for his guests. But most of all, Randy loved his children. He also had an enormous affection for his Labs, and his Cheech. His sense of humor, contagious smile and extraordinary love for life will be missed by many. Randy never knew a stranger!
He was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Holdrege; every organization that involved hunting and conservation; the Holdrege Country Club; was a member of the Nebraska Aviation Trade Association; and the National Agricultural Aviation Association to name a few.
He was preceded in death by one child, Quinn; his maternal grandfather, Gordon Suhr; paternal grandparents: Harley and Clara Wells; grandparents-in-law: Allen and Betty Johnson; brother-in-law, Jade Johnson; and niece, Gracelyn Wells.
Randy leaves to celebrate his life; his wife, Jordan Wells and their four children: Brooklyn, James, Axel, and Johnny all of Holdrege; his parents: Dave and Candy Wells of Holdrege; two brothers: Ryan Wells and his wife, Melissa and Nick Wells and his wife, Toni all of Holdrege; grandmother, Edna "Ned" Suhr of Holdrege; grandparents-in-law: Berniece and Lon Clark of Holdrege; mother-in-law, Barb Johnson and Chris Envick of Holdrege; father-in-law, Rick Johnson and his wife, Kim of Chapman, Kansas; sister-in-law, Jessie Powley and her husband, Travis of Holdrege; brother-in-law, Jarvis Johnson and his wife, Maggie of Liberty, Missouri; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
