A Private Family Graveside Service for Raymond L. Fahrenbruch was held at the Highland Cemetery at Bertrand, Nebraska. A Memorial Service is planned for Spring 2016 in Bertrand.
Raymond Lester Fahrenbruch, 91 years of age, of Bertrand, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at the Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege, Nebraska. Raymond was born March 10, 1924 in Culbertson, Nebraska, the second of four sons born to Jake and Amelia (Bauer) Fahrenbruch. He received his education from Culbertson High School.
On June 20, 1948 Raymond was united in marriage to Leola E. Von Loh at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bertrand and to this union two children were born: Douglas Paul on May 1, 1950 and La Donna Sue on July 9, 1952.
Raymond worked for High Farms for 27 years, retiring in 2011. He enjoyed watching baseball, Nebraska Cornhusker football and was an avid "pool shark".
Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Leola on December 19, 2011; three brothers: Harold Fahrenbruch, Joe Fahrenbruch and Alfred Fahrenbruch and wife, Emma; nephew, Jerry Fahrenbruch; niece, Patricia Donnoe; sister-in-law, Lorena Marquardt and her husband, Orvin; and brother-in-law, Melvin Von Loh and his wife, Doris.
Left to celebrate Raymond's life include, a son, Douglas Fahrenbruch and his wife, Vinnetta of Bertrand; a daughter, La Donna Kwiatkowski and her husband, Norbert of Overton, Nebraska; three grandchildren: Mike Fahrenbruch and his wife, Kim of Omaha, Nebraska, Michelle Skorupa and her husband, Patrick of Billings, Montana and Randy Kwiatkowski and his wife, Stacey of Beale Air Force Base, California; four great-grandchildren: Forrest Fahrenbruch, Alexis Bevers and her husband, Doug, Dakota Kwiatkowski and Brittney Kwiatkowski; great-great-grandson, Matthew Bevers; along with many extended family members, other relatives and many friends.
A private family visitation was held.
A memorial has been established in Raymond's honor and will be designated at a later date.
