Rebecca L. "Becky" Stevens will be buried beside her parents at Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege, Nebraska on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend Kenton Birtell officiating the graveside service.

Rebecca Lee "Becky" Stevens, 78 years of age passed away, on January 10, 2024, at Sumner Place in Lincoln, Nebraska. Becky was born in Lincoln on May 6, 1945, to John and Clara (Riggert) Stevens. She lived in Funk and Holdrege most of her life. Becky was a client of Mosaic during those years and a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. She moved to Lincoln in 2016 to be near family. While in Lincoln she lived at Sumner Place, a skilled nursing facility.

She enjoyed her years with Mosaic and the opportunities they gave her, such as a sheltered workshop, living with friends in the community, and various social opportunities. She especially enjoyed the dances. Becky loved music and couldn't keep her hands still when she heard music. She grew up listening to her father play the banjo, so the old country music tunes were "sing-along" for her. Sumner Place also provided many enjoyable musical opportunities.

Becky's family learned many things from her. She showed us how to be content with so little. She could never think of anything when we asked her what she wanted for Christmas or birthday. She was thrilled to receive a new Chaps Stick or a packet of Kleenex. She considered everyone she met to be her friend and she would never say anything negative about her friends.

Becky is survived by her sister, Rhoda Claridge; niece, Denise Meyer (Kevin); and two nephews: Dan Claridge (Kim); and Dave Claridge.

There will be no viewing or visitation.

A memorial has been established in Becky's honor and kindly suggested to the family for a later designation.
