Reta J. Deaver

Graveside Services for family and close friends of Reta J. Deaver will be conducted from the Deaver Cemetery in Furnas County, southwest of Stamford, Nebraska on Friday, May 4, 2007 at 10:30 a.m.

Reta Jean Deaver, 81 years of age, of Alma, Nebraska (formerly of Stamford) passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2007 at the Harlan County Health Systems in Alma. Reta was born June 8, 1925 at Omaha, Nebraska, the eldest of three children of Arthur Gale and Bertha C. (Kolb) Perin. She received her education in Council Bluffs, graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School with the class of 1943. Following her education she was employed in the Insurance business in Omaha.

On August 28, 1965 she was united in marriage to Charles Deaver at the First Lutheran Church in Omaha. The couple made their home in Omaha. Upon Charles' retirement, they moved to Charles' hometown of Stamford. She was preceded in death by Charles in January of 1987. Reta continued to live in Stamford, until her failing health and she made her home at the Colonial Villa Good Samaritan Center in Alma.

Reta had special place in her heart for animals and always enjoyed her pets through the years. She was an avid reader, loved tending to her flower garden, especially her peonies and enjoyed spending time with her family.

She leaves to mourn her passing her twin sister, Rita Jane Vavra of Martin, SD and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Howard Perin.

There will be no visitation, the family is honoring Reta's wish for cremation.

A memorial has been established in her memory.
