Private family memorial services and inurnment for Richard F. (Rick) Dougherty will be held at a later date.

Richard Francis (Rick) Dougherty, 50 years of age, of Oxford, Nebraska, passed away on Friday, July 20, 2018 at the Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege, Nebraska.  Rick was born September 3, 1967, at Levittown, Pennsylvania, the second of six children born to John and Teresa (Denton) Dougherty.  Rick received his education in Phoenix, Arizona, where he graduated from high school.

Since his birth, he had to overcome many difficulties that stemmed to heart issues, which led to many other health problems, yet Rick never let these challenges stop him from living life to the fullest, and making the most out of each day.  After moving from Phoenix, he returned to Levittown, where he resided with his older sister, Chris.

In 2003, Rick relocated to Oxford to be near his mother, and later in years began to make his home at Mid-Nebraska Individual Services in Oxford, where the staff was just like a second family to him.  While at Mid-Nebraska, Rick enjoyed working in assembly, and spending time with his friends watching, NASCAR driver, Jeff Gordon; and NFL Football and professional baseball that had to include his favorite teams:  the Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phillies.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father, John Dougherty; and an uncle, Andrew Denton.

Rick leaves to celebrate his life, his mother, Teresa Feldman and her husband, Reuben of Oxford; one brother, Jason Dougherty and his wife, Karen of Nelson, Nebraska; four sisters:  Christina Cook and her husband, Tim of Levittown, Pennsylvania; Lorie Furrey and her husband, Harley of Nelson; Doreen Graber of Oxford; and April Judd and her husband, Steven of Alliance, Nebraska; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and other relatives and friends.

There will be no visitation, the family is honoring his wish for cremation.

A memorial has been established in Rick's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
