A Celebration of Life Service for Richard and Effie Warne will be held on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Orleans, Nebraska with Pastor Dave Irwin officiating.  Private family inurnment will be held prior to the services at the Orleans Cemetery.

Richard Harvey Warne, 88 years of age, of Crystal River, Florida, passed away on Wednesday December 28, 2011, at Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center in Crystal River.  Richard was born October 6, 1923, in Orleans, to Murray and Louise (Matthies) Warne.

Effie Marie Warne, 92 years of age, of Crystal River, Florida, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center.  Effie was born May 20, 1922, in Okaton, South Dakota, the 4 th of 13 children born to George and Marie (Hoekman) Joffer.

On November 6, 1948, Richard and Effie were united in marriage in Parker, Colorado and they were blessed with two sons:  John and Steve.  The family made their home in Elizabeth, Colorado.  After retiring in 2006 from cattle-ranching and farming for 33 years at Elizabeth, Richard and Effie began to make their home in Crystal River.  While in Colorado, Effie devoted her life to being a homemaker and also served her community as a registered nurse.

Richard and Effie were devoted members of the St. Mark's Presbyterian Church in Kiowa, Colorado, where Richard was a past Elder.  Richard was a 32 nd Degree Mason and a member of the Jachin Lodge #146 A.F. & A.M. in Holdrege, Nebraska, and was also a member of the Tehama Temple Shrine in Hastings, Nebraska.  Besides the church, Effie was also a member of the P.E.O. and Eastern Star.
Richard was preceded in death by his sister, Iris Warne, and a brother, Harold Warne.  Besides her husband, Richard; Effie was preceded in death by her two sisters:  Marie and Marge; and three brothers:  Harvey, Art, and Garrett Joffer.

At the time of Richard's passing; he was survived by his loving wife of 63 years; Effie Warne; two sons:  John Warne and his wife, Jayma of Crystal River, and Steve Warne and his wife, Kellie of Wellston, Oklahoma; five grandchildren:  Thayer, Victoria, Marissa, DeAnn and Gus; and two great-grandchildren:  Marek and Mia.  In addition to their children and great-grandchildren, Effie was also survived by three brothers:  Pete Joffer and his wife, Lillian of Idaho, Chuck Joffer and his wife, Coral of South Dakota and John Joffer and his wife, Ruth of South Dakota; four sisters:  Helena Lawrence and her husband, Harold of Iowa, Elsie Schmidt of South Dakota, Janice Thompson and her husband, Dick of South Dakota and Sarena Breza and her husband, George of Maryland; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

There will be no visitation or memorial book signing.

A memorial has been established in Richard and Effie's honor and kindly suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
