Memorial Book Signing and Celebration of Life for Richard L. "Rick" Louthan will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska. A prayer service and time of sharing will be held on Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. with Mr. Ken Breinig leading the prayer service.

Richard Lane Louthan, 64 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016 at the Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings, Nebraska. Rick was born October 15, 1951 at Holdrege, the third of five children born to Robert and Patricia (Langtry) Louthan. He received his education from Loomis Public Schools, graduating from Loomis High School with the class of 1969. Following his education, Rick enlisted into the United States Navy, serving his country during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge on June 16, 1975.

On October 13, 1973, he was united in marriage to Rebecca "Becki" Pacheco in Charleston, South Carolina and to this union two children were born: a son, Tallon, and a daughter, Jennifer. The couple lived in Nebraska and California before settling to Loomis, Nebraska to raise their family. Rick was employed as an Electrician for many years in Holdrege at K & D Motor and Electric, Kayton Electric (IES Electric) and at the time of his passing was employed by Central Nebraska Electric based out of Ansley, Nebraska.

Rick was a member of the United Methodist Church in Loomis until its closing, past member of the Loomis Volunteer Fire Department, member of the Holdrege Silhouette Gun Club and was active with the Loomis and Holdrege V.F.W., where he served as Post Commander. Rick enjoyed golfing, hunting, was an avid reader, looked forward to his regular Friday night poker game with his friends, he also enjoyed the open road on his Harley and most of all he loved the time spent with his family. Rick was preceded in death by his wife, Becki on February 17, 2010.

Besides his wife, Becki, he was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Louthan; two brothers: Larry Allen Louthan and John Leroy Louthan; two sisters-in-law: Frances "Terri" Settlemire and Rosemary Rosenquist and a nephew, Thaddeus Louthan.

He leaves to celebrate his life: his son, Tallon Louthan and his wife, Misty of Lake Worth, Florida; daughter, Jennifer Kasl and her husband, George of Dorchester, Nebraska; five granddaughters: Cassidy Jo Olson, Emma, Quinn, and Kendall Kasl, Amelia Louthan; one great-granddaughter, Aleah Wendelin; his father, Robert Louthan and his wife, Ruth of Holdrege; brother, Randy Louthan of Loomis; one sister, Cherri Gentzler and her husband, Tom of Indianola, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Louthan of Durham, North Carolina, and Jovie Cosens and her husband, Michael of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A memorial has been established in Rick's honor and will be designated at a later date.
