Richard Edward Randall was born June 4, 1940 on a farm north of Long Island, in Phillips County, Kansas, the youngest of three children born to Edward and Leah (Lewis) Randall. Richard received his primary from Country School #42 in Harlan County until the 7th grade and then attended Naponee Public School, graduating from Naponee High School with the class of 1958. During his high school years he excelled in several sports.

On August 2, 1959, he was united in marriage to Lela Greening and to this union three children were born: Scott, Mary and Mark. The family made their home on a farm south of Naponee, where Richard engaged in farming and drove truck as well. During his years of trucking many friendship bonds were formed throughout his lifetime.

On the farm he enjoyed raising pigs for his grandkids to show at the Franklin County Fair. Richard always had a special connection with his dogs, enjoyed a good cup of coffee and homemade ice cream was always a favorite.
His greatest joy and highlight of his life was attending his kids, grandkids, and great-grandchildren's sporting events and activities. Richard was also a long time member of the Naponee Wesleyan Church.

Besides his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law; sisters-in-law: Luella Overmiller and her husband, Dale and Mary Monaghan; brothers-in-law: Roy Tucker, Floyd Kimble, Howard Greening and his lifelong partner, Delia Brugh and Darrel Snow.

Richard leaves to celebrate his life; his wife of 57 years, Lela Randall of Naponee; his three children: Scott Randall and his wife, Candi of Naponee, Mary Saathoff and her husband, Jody, and Mark Randall and his wife, Kim all of Franklin; eight grandchildren: Thomas and Steven Randall, Kathryn Peterman and her husband, Chris, Daniel Saathoff and his wife, Brittany, Kaylie Eckhout and her husband, Nolan, Taylor Randall and her special friend, Faron Klingelhoefer, and Jaylin and Kelsey Randall; five great-grandchildren: Caiden, Lyra, and Livia Peterman, Brysen Saathoff, and Colt Eckhout; two sisters: Laurel Kimble of Riverside, California and Lynn Tucker of Rockwall, Texas; sister-in-law, Velma Snow of Phillipsburg, Kansas; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A memorial has been established in Richard's honor and will be designated at a later date.
