A memorial service for Ricky L. Koch will be held at a later date.

Ricky Lee Koch, 66 years of age, of Oxford, Nebraska, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege. Rick was born in Peoria, Illinois, on April 4, 1959, the second of six children, born to Duane and Carolyn (Chapman) Koch. He received his education from Metamora Public School and later received his GED.

On September 1, 1990, Rick was united in marriage to Sharon McDonald in Washburn, Illinois, and together they raised two children: Stacy and Joshua. The couple made their home in Illinois until 2008, when they moved to Kearney, Nebraska, and later Oxford, Nebraska. Rick was a construction laborer working on Monsanto in Kearney, and later he worked walking utility at BD in Holdrege, Nebraska.

Rick enjoyed playing cards, but more importantly, winning. He liked his cat Hank, listening to music, fishing, and playing slot machines.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Brian Koch.

Rick is survived by his wife, Sharon Koch of Oxford; two children: Stacy Warden (David) of Oxford; Joshua Koch (Nicole) of Aledo, Illinois; three grandchildren: Makenna, Drake, and Drayson; his step-mom, Nancy Koch; four siblings: Debra Chapman; Gary Koch (Sharlene); Brenda Koch; Vicki Koch; brothers-in-law: Steve McDonald (Teri); Eric Peterson (Dena); sisters-in-law: Kim Graf (Dave); and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

There will be no visitation or memorial book signing. The family is honoring Rick's wish for cremation.

A memorial has been established in Rick's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
