Memorial Services for Robert L. "Bob" Kindler will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at the Alma United Methodist Church in Alma, Nebraska with Reverend Jim Bendorf officiating. A private family inurnment will be at the Alma Cemetery in Alma, at a later date. The family kindly requests leisure attire in Bob's request.

Robert Lee "Bob" Kindler, 75 years of age, of Alma, died on Monday, February 12, 2018 at Harlan County Health System in Alma. He was born March 14, 1942, on the family farm in Jewell County, Kansas near Burr Oak, Kansas, the second of six children born to Leonard Leo and Leta Marie (Howell) Kindler. Bob received his education from Esbon, Burr Oak, and Alma schools and later attained his GED. He pursued higher education from Central Community College in Hastings.

Bob was inducted into the United States Navy and was honorably discharged, following his service.

On June 27, 1965, Bob was united in marriage to Beverly Jean McCorkle in Beloit, Kansas. To this union four children were born: James, Candy, Teena and Jeffrey. The couple made their home in Alma, where Bob was an over the road truck driver for K&W Trucking of Osborne, Kansas.

Bob also drove the school bus for Alma Public Schools, for many years.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Roger Eugene Kindler and Wayne Frances Kindler, both in infancy; brothers-in-law, Eugene Middagh, Daniel McCorkle and Arthur McCorkle; and sister-in-law, Margaret Sporleder.

Those left to mourn his passing include; his wife of 52 1/2 years, Beverly of Alma; four children: Jim Kindler and wife, Donna of Alma, Candy Hughes and husband, Wesley of Alma, Teena Dietz and husband, Leslie of Orleans, Nebraska and Jeff Kindler and wife, Mary of Alma; 16 grandchildren: Jacob Kindler and wife, Rachel, Rachel Kreikemeier and husband, Andy, Kerry Kindler, Jay Kindler and wife, Amber, Kory Kindler, Tessa Kindler and fiancé, Jon Beck, Kaleb Kindler, Kayla Kindler, Cody Kindler and wife, Alyssa, Levi Kindler, Laramie Hughes, Dakota Hughes, Justin Dietz and wife, Ashley, Shelby Dietz and boyfriend, Mike Corey, Michael Atherton and girlfriend, Julie Ann Nelson and Maggie Kindler; 17 great-grandchildren: Cade, Noah, Leighton, Jessa, Mesa, Ava, Kolby, Mia, Kendri, Lyla, Haydenn, Neveah, Brantlee, Paislee, Rochelle, Evan and Hunter; one brother: Marvin Kindler and wife, Beverly of Oxford, Nebraska; two sisters: Lorrine Middagh of Lincoln, Nebraska and Lois McInturf and husband, Richard of Kearney, Nebraska; brother-in-law, David McCorkle of Wichita, Kansas; two sisters-in-law, Esther McKinley and husband Larry of Glade, Kansas and Josephine Melroy of Ravenna, Nebraska; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and countless friends.

Memorial Book Signing will be held Friday, February 16, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Bauer-Torrey & Mach Funeral Home in Alma.

A memorial has been established in Bob's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
