Memorial Services and inurnment for Robert J. "Bob" Robertus will be conducted at Lincoln Memorial Homes Cemetery in Lincoln, Nebraska at a later date. Local Memorial Services will also be held and announced at a later date.

Robert Jack "Bob" Robertus, 77 years of age, of Alma, Nebraska passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at his home in Alma. Bob was born September 9, 1935 at the family home in Lincoln, the second of three children born to George and Elizabeth (Harris) Robertus. Bob received his education from Lincoln Public Schools, graduating from Lincoln High School with the class of 1953. Following his education, Bob started his career with the Burlington Northern Railroad.

On September 6, 1960, he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Weyand at Hamberg, Iowa. The couple was blessed with three children: Cindy, Rob and Jim. They made their home in Lincoln until 1980 when Bob and Mary Ann moved to Pleasant Dale, Nebraska. In 1999, they started to make their home in Alma.

Bob was employed as a Carmen for Burlington Northern Sante Fe for 44 years.

Bob enjoyed fishing and Husker Football.

Besides his parents; Bob was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Sheldon "Shelly" Hahn.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Mary Ann, of Alma; two sons: Rob and his wife, Kelly of Lincoln, Jim Robertus and his wife, Cathy of Lincoln, daughter, Cindy Laws and her husband, Bob of Lincoln; nine grandchildren; one brother: Leonard Robertus and his wife, Carolyn of Lincoln; one sister, Marilyn Hahn of Lincoln; brother-in-law, Joe Weyand and his wife, Judy of Lincoln; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A memorial has been established in Bob's honor and kindly suggested to the Alma United Methodist Church.

There will be no visitation as the family has chosen cremation.
