Robert "Bob" D. Lenon

Funeral Services for Robert D. "Bob" Lenon will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Holdrege, Nebraska with Pastor Darren Stroh officiating. Interment will be held the Prairie Home Cemetery at Holdrege with Military Honors provided by the Martin Horn American Legion Post #66 in conjunction with the United States Army Military Honors Team.

Robert Dale Lenon, 94 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege.  Bob was born on June 20, 1921 in Wilcox, Nebraska, the only child born to Grover Charles and Mary Magdeline (Krauss) Lenon. He received his education from Wilcox High School, graduating with the class of 1938.  Bob pursued higher education from Boyles College in Omaha, Nebraska, taking business courses.  Following his education, Bob served his country in the United States Army during WW II until his honorable discharge.

On April 26, 1942, he was united in marriage to Felsa E. Anderson and to this union one son was born, Larry Lee. The family made their home in Holdrege.

Bob started out working for Great Northern Railroad in Sioux City, Iowa for five years.  He then owned three different cafés in Axtell and Minden, Nebraska and Sioux City, between the years, 1952-1956.  Bob owned and operated Bob's Auto Sales from 1968-1999 until his retirement.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Holdrege. Bob was a prideful Army Veteran.  He was a member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, and the VFW, but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bob and Felsa loved to travel in their later years, visiting friends and family along the way. In August of 2007, Bob and Felsa relocated to Clermont, Florida to be near their son and his family.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Felsa on July 2, 2014.

He leaves to mourn his passing; son, Larry Lenon and his wife, Fern of Clermont; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A memorial has been established in Bob's honor and will be designated at a later date.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.
