Funeral Services for Robert G. Anderson will be conducted from the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. with the Pastor Murray Jones, officiating. Interment will be in the Immanuel Cemetery in Harlan County, Nebraska.

Robert Gene Anderson, 74 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2007 at the Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege. Bob was born June 6, 1933 at Imperial, Nebraska, the second of six children of Edwin and Lucille (Cox) Anderson. Bob received his education from Clough Valley, Kansas and Laird, Colorado. Following his education, Bob worked as a farmhand for several years. In 1952 the family moved to Harlan County near Ragan, Nebraska.

In 1961, Bob was united in marriage to Marilyn Jones. The family made their home in Holdrege, where Bob worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for over fifty years, most recently with the Phelps County Department of Roads at the time of his death. The labor of the land continued his entire life, working dirt was his life's work and hobby.

He leaves to mourn his passing his three sons: Tim Long and his wife, Barb of Holdrege, Scott "Curly" Anderson and his fiancé, Lori Barlow of Holdrege and Dave "Albert" Anderson and his wife, Jody of Holdrege; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters: Beulah Petersen and Linda Boettcher both of Holdrege; three brothers: Lonnie Anderson and his wife, Lee of Pratt, Kansas, Marlowe "Mike" Anderson and his wife, Jan of Lincoln, Nebraska and Steve Anderson and his wife, Eileen of Funk, Nebraska; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Anderson will lie in state at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 from 1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

A memorial has been established in his memory.
