Roberta "Bobbie" L. Johnson

Funeral Services for Roberta L. "Bobbie" Johnson will be conducted from the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Holdrege, Nebraska on Monday, July 16, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend David Otten, officiating. Following the traditional funeral, the family is honoring Bobbie's wishes for cremation.

Roberta Lynn "Bobbie" Johnson, 63 years of age, of Franklin, Nebraska (formerly of Holdrege) passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2007 following a lengthy illness at her home in Franklin. Bobbie was born July 27, 1943 in Lincoln, Nebraska, the eldest of three children of Robert and Norma (Saalfeld) Nantkes. During WW II, Roberta and her mother resided at the family farm near Columbus, Nebraska, while her father served in the United States Air Force.

In 1946, the family moved to Holdrege. Bobbie was confirmed at the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Holdrege and graduated from Holdrege High School with the class of 1961. Following her education, she was united in marriage to Ron Ludeke in 1964 and to this union three children were born: Pat, Brad and Laura Beth. While in Holdrege, Bobbie was employed at Fritzer Memorial Hospital, as a housekeeper, Becton Dickinson and the First Security Bank and was active in Mrs. Jaycees.

In 1979, she was united in marriage to David L. Johnson, the combined family then included children, Mike and Kendra Johnson. She was a dedicated employee of Bethphage Mission, where she took care of adults with special needs. Dave and Bobbie moved to Cozad, Nebraska in 1993 and after retirement, moved to Franklin in 2003.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Dave of Franklin; one son, Brad Ludeke and his wife, Tracie of Holdrege; two daughters: Pat Ludeke of Loomis, Nebraska and Laura Tobiassen of Hildreth, Nebraska; stepson, Mike Johnson and his wife, Jamie of Holdrege; stepdaughter, Kendra Plank and her friend, Angie Stevens of Wymore, Nebraska; grandchildren: Kylie Gabriel, Kelsie and Lexie Ludeke, Matthew, Bailey and Derek Johnson and Brittany, Kirsten and Alexis Plank; two brothers: Steve Nantkes and his friend, Ramona Hernandez of North Platte, Nebraska and Jeff Nantkes and his wife, Kathy of Holdrege; nephews and nieces: Sara, Brady, Neleigh and Dustin and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Johnson will lie in state at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege on Sunday, July 15, 2007 from 1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
