Private Memorial Graveside Service and Inturnment for Rodney E. Fosbinder will be held at the Fort McPherson National Cemetery at rural Maxwell, Nebraska.

Rodney Eugene Fosbinder, 69 years of age, of Bertrand, Nebraska, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2020, at his home surrounded by his family.  Rodney was born on June 13, 1951, in North Platte, Nebraska, the second of four children, born to LeRoy and Vera (Newtson) Fosbinder. He received his education from North Platte Public Schools and graduated from North Platte Public Schools with the class of 1969.  Rodney pursued higher education from Bellvue Community College and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Management.

On November 10, 1971, Rodney enlisted in the United States Air Force in Denver, Colorado and was stationed at the Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota.  Rodney served during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged from active duty on November 9, 1976.  He then served in the Reserve Capacity until discharged.

On March 7, 1980, Rodney was united in marriage to Patti L. Marvel in Rawlins, Wyoming.  This union was blessed with one son, Bryan.  The family made their home in Rawlins for five years and then began to make their home in Bertrand, Nebraska.

Rodney worked as an Electrician and Operator for the Nebraska Public Power District at the Canaday Steam Plant for 23 years, until his retirement in 2011.  Those who knew Rodney knew his work ethic and can confirm he was a "work-a-hol-ic".  When he wasn't at work or doing odd jobs, you could find Rodney enjoying spending time with his family.

Rodney will be remembered for going the extra mile to help family, friends and neighbors .

Rodney was preceded in death by; his father, LeRoy Fosbinder; and one brother, Jerry Fosbinder.

Rodney leaves to celebrate his life: his wife, Patti Fosbinder of Bertrand; son, Bryan Fosbinder of Bertrand; daughter, Melinda Baker and her husband, Scott of North Platte; two grandsons:  Coy and Kason Baker; mother, Vera Fosbinder of North Platte; sister,  Diana Mason of North Platte; brother, Gaylord of North Platte; sister-in-law,  Glenda Marvel of Rawlins, Wyoming; brother-in-law,  Paul Collins and his wife, Christine of Roswell, New Mexico; along with nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

The family has honored Rodney's wish for cremation.

A memorial has been established in Rodney's honor, and kindly suggested to the Morrison Cancer Center - Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings, Nebraska.
