Private family graveside services and interment for Ronald L. Bray will be held in the Adullam Cemetery, northeast of Bertrand in Phelps County, Nebraska with Pastor Kenton Birtell officiating.
Ronald Leroy "Ron" Bray, 55 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2020, at his home in Holdrege, surrounded by his family following a courageous battle with cancer. Ronald was born December 31, 1964, in North Platte, Nebraska, the second of six children to Terry and Violet (Hayes) Bray. He received his education from Cozad Public Schools.
On October 24, 1992, he was united in marriage to Heather Gipe at First Baptist Church in Holbrook, Nebraska, and to this union the couple were blessed with three children: Jefry Jay, Ronnie Junior, and Shawn Raymond. Ron also considered Jerry Eagleburger as an honorary son. The couple loved to be around their grandchildren.
His favorite pastimes were being outside, hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, camping, being a part of the demo derby and drag racing. Ron loved working on cars and spending time with his friends and family. He was an easy-going guy and loved to have fun. Ron was a very caring person who enjoyed helping others, and would never ask for a favor in return.
Ronald was preceded in death by; his son, Ronnie Junior; his parents: Terry Bray and Violet Hayes; step-father, Dean Mathews; and mother-in-law, Charlotte Gipe.
He leaves to celebrate his life; his wife, Heather Bray of Holdrege; two sons: Jefry Bray of Holdrege; and Shawn and his fiancé, Shelbi Bray of Colony, Wyoming; four grandchildren: Alexis Martin; Grayson Bray; Izaihah Bray; and Railyn Bray; one brother, Samuel Bray and his wife, Loari; four sisters: Bonnie Bray; Pauline Linder and her husband, Marvin "Bud"; Elizabeth Bray; and Virgina Hayes-Jenny; one step-sister, Deana Garretson; father-in-law, Leonard Junior "Sonnie" Gipe of Holbrook, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A private family visitation will be held at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.
A memorial has been established in Ron's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
