Ronald Wayne Peterson, 80 years of age, of rural Atlanta, Nebraska, died on Thursday, February 4, 2021, at the CHI Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska.  Ronald was born on October 19, 1940, at the family home in Atlanta, the only son born to Victor and Gladys (Snodgrass) Peterson.  He received his primary education from Atlanta Public Schools and later attended and graduated from Holdrege High School with the class of 1958.  Ron pursued higher education from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.

Following his graduation, Ron began farming with his father.  On December 19, 1961, he was united in marriage to Kay Lorraine Andersen at the First United Methodist Church in Holdrege.  The couple made their home in Atlanta, where Ron worked various jobs while farming, including hauling milk, at Becton-Dickinson, the Atlanta Elevator, Livestock Feeders, and the pipe yard at the gas company.   The couple was blessed with three children:  Cindy, Kara, and Thad.  The family enjoyed working on the farm together, attending church functions, and Turkey Days in Oxford.  Ron and Kay would later divorce.

Ron was later united in marriage to Carol Armbruster and the family made their home in rural Atlanta.  Carol preceded Ron in death, following a battle with cancer.

Ron was then married to Carol's sister, Doris Armbruster.  They made their home in rural Atlanta and were involved with the Atlanta community church functions.  The couple managed the Zepher Café, and the Doris and Dwayne at the Dale Café.  Ron and Doris would later divorce.

Ron was a past member of Bethel Lutheran Church and was currently attending New Wine Fellowship in Orleans, Nebraska, where he enjoyed their fellowship and fish fry's.

He enjoyed his life on the farm, spending time with his granddaughters and great-grandchildren, and never knew a stranger.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carol; his aunt Marguerite I. Borden and her husband, Neil.

Ron is survived by his three children:  Cindy Peterson and her fiancé, Scott Beck of Atlanta; Kara Peterson of Brooklyn, New York; and Thad Peterson and his best half, Theresa Wood of Atlanta; three granddaughters: Olivia Sell, and Katrina Sell; and Skylar "Paitence" Schleich and her husband, Nick; two great-grandchildren:  Adalynn Bantam; and Nug Schleich; along with other relatives and friends.
