A celebration of life for Ronald C. Roush is scheduled for Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Adventure Life Church in Altoona, Iowa, 1700 8th St. SW, Altoona, IA 50009.
A graveside service is scheduled for Monday, March 23, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege, Nebraska, with Rev. Dr. W. Kirwin Steward Jr. officiating.
Ronald Charles Roush, 82 years of age, a resident of Holdrege, Nebraska, and formerly of Bondurant, Iowa, was called to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, March 20, 2026, at his home in Holdrege, surrounded by his beloved family. Ron was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on January 12, 1944, the eldest of four children, born to Vernon E. and Jeanne M. (Nolan) Roush. He completed his education in Council Bluffs. During his youth, Ron was known for his orneriness, spirited nature and getting involved in lots of mischief. As he grew older he never grew out of that ornery smile.
Ron was a father to three children: Tom, Troy, and Rhonda. Years later on a memorable evening, while "Scoopin' the Loop" in Des Moines, Iowa, Ron met Linda Lee, the love of his life. They united in marriage on April 6, 1970, in Princeton, Missouri. To this union, three children were born: Gina, Jody, and Jeremy.
Ron dedicated 30 years of his career to building tires at Armstrong Tire while also working on his small family farm. For several years, he owned and operated First Class Concrete of Des Moines, Iowa. Later in his career, he served as a custodian for the South-East Polk School District.
Ron lived life with a passion for the outdoors, finding joy in fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed hunting for "treasures" at auctions. He shared this love for adventure with his family, especially while riding his motorcycle with his wife. Above all, Ron treasured time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. A man of faith, he was a long-time member of Adventure Life Church in Altoona, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Jeanne Roush; his sons: Tom Roush; and Troy (Jackie) Roush; his sister, Patricia Whitmore; his brothers: Vernon "Bud" Roush; and Donnie Veach.
Ron is survived by his beloved wife, Linda; their four children: Rhonda (Chris) Thill; Gina (Jeff) Greubel; Jody (Jeremy) Jones; Jeremy Roush; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brothers: Jim (Valerie) Roush; Roger (Toni) Veach; Steve (Donna) Roush; and sister, Mary Cris Gordon; his brother-in-law: Jim (Fina) Whitmore; and a large number of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A memorial has been established in Ron's honor, and kindly suggested to the South-East Polk School District.
