Ronnie J. Bray, 17 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2009 as the result of a single motor vehicle accident. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at the Holcomb Evangelical Free Church, north of Holdrege, with the Rev. Todd Marcy officiating. Interment will be held in the Adullam Cemetery in rural Bertrand, Nebraska.
Ronnie Junior Bray was born on September 5, 1991 in Holdrege, Nebraska to Ronald and Heather (Gipe) Bray. He attended Loomis High School where he graduated with the class of 2009. He enjoyed playing football for Loomis High School and was also on the wrestling team. He was employed at Runza Restaurant in Holdrege. His favorite pastimes were cruising around town, seeing movies with his girlfriend, and attending Demolition Derbys. He loved music, working on cars and spending time with his friends and family. Ronnie was planning on attending Northeast Community College later this fall where he intended to receive an education in Automotive Technology and later become a professional mechanic. He was an easy going person who loved to have fun. He was very caring and enjoyed helping people.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Sylvester and Mable Tunison, Marivn and Betty Brown, Elsie Gipe and Ray Mathews; stepbrother, Jeremy Simmons; and close friend, Christopher Linder.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his parents, Ron and Heather Bray of Holdrege; two brothers, Jeff Bray of Holdrege, and Shawn Bray of Holbrook, Nebraska; grandparents: Sonnie and Charlotte Gipe of Holbrook, Violet Hayes and her special friend Dean Mathews of Cozad, and Terry Bray of Hermason, Oregon; and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
A memorial book signing and reflections of Ronnie's life will be held from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be submitted to the Ronnie J. Bray Memorial fund which will be designated at a later date.
